Saw this on a guys boat like the one being built. I thought this was a great place to mount them since it was fairly easy to get to but more importantly out of the way, away from all the salt water and weather and lastly in the last place a fire would start. Most folks have them them in the console where a fire is likely only problem is they may not be accessible depending upon the fire. Just thought this was a great idea having them protected out of the way completely. They are under the leaning post behind the cooler on each side. You pull the cooler out all the way and can access them. Great idea.
